Choyed Sheikh of Hingalganj suffered a cardiac arrest following the arrival of SIR notices for his family members. His daughter stated that the inability of her brother to return from another state for the hearing caused their father fatal stress. In a separate incident in Karimpur, Nadia, Fijur Khan hanged himself after a notice was issued in his wife’s name due to document discrepancies. Local officials have stressed that these hearings are routine and unrelated to deportation, but fear persists. In Rampurhat, Birbhum, Johnny Sheikh was found dead after a large number of notices were served in his neighborhood, leading to a climate of extreme apprehension.

Following their arrest, they were presented before a Bangladeshi court and are now in jail. Family sources indicate that their homes are in Birbhum. Sonali Khatun, along with her husband Danish Sheikh and their five-year-old son Sabir Sheikh, resided in Rohini Sector 26, Delhi, for work purposes. Sonali is eight months pregnant. She was arrested by the Delhi Police on June 17th. All of them are residents of Birbhum, Bengal.

They were later sent to Bangladesh on the 26th of the same month. Similarly, Sweety Bibi, a resident of Dhitra village under Murarai police station, and her two sons were also arrested by the Delhi Police and deported to Bangladesh. The Bangladeshi police took action and arrested them in Nawabganj, Bangladesh, on suspicion of infiltration. The Bangladeshi police have filed charges under the Passport-Foreign Act.
