Born on October 4, 1997, in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, Rishabh Pant made his place in the Indian team in 2017. Just days before his birthday, on August 4, 2025, Hemant Soren lost his father, Dishom Guru Shibu Soren, who was considered the guardian of Jharkhandis. After his father’s death, Hemant Soren not only performed the final rites but also followed local traditions in his ancestral village of Nemra in the Ramgarh district.

Aspiring to be an engineer, Hemant Soren enrolled in Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra (BIT Mesra), Ranchi, after completing his intermediate studies. However, fate intervened, and he entered the political arena before completing his education.

In 2010, Hemant Soren became the Deputy CM in the government of the then-Chief Minister Arjun Munda. He took oath as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand for the first time in 2013. Later, he took oath for the second time on December 29, 2019. On December 31, 2023, Hemant Soren was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in a land scam case and was imprisoned. After being released from jail, he took oath as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand for the third time on July 4, 2024.

In the November 2024 Assembly elections, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, under Hemant Soren’s leadership, secured the highest number of seats, with 34, while the Mahagathbandhan government, led by him, won 56 seats, forming a government with a massive majority. On November 28, 2024, Hemant Soren took oath for the fourth time as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand.

On April 15, 2025, during the 13th Central General Convention of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, a major decision was made, and Hemant Soren was elected as the central president of the party, succeeding Dishom Guru Shibu Soren.
