The focus remains on providing consistent, quality electricity to all consumer segments—farmers, domestic users, and industrial units—while curbing frequent outages.

Reviewing the scheme’s progress, Tomar sought updates from top engineers on supply chains and bill recovery metrics. He underscored the urgency of sufficient power for Rabi crop irrigation, insisting on zero compromise in maintenance schedules. Officials must furnish comprehensive data on dues: total outstanding, recoverable amounts, and irrecoverable portions, with immediate steps against big-time defaulters.

‘Quality power and robust recovery go hand in hand,’ Tomar asserted. Prompt correction of erroneous bills is mandatory, and laggards face disciplinary notices. Achievements under the scheme are notable: Rs 745.92 crore collected from consumers, translating to Rs 301.40 crore in waived surcharges. Breakdown by zones includes Rs 150.22 crore from the east, a whopping Rs 469.47 crore from the central region, and Rs 126.23 crore from the west.
