  • Big shock to Maharashtra government, Supreme Court rejects Anil Deshmukh’s application

    The Uddhav government of Maharashtra has suffered a major setback from the Supreme Court. In fact, on Thursday, the Supreme Court has rejected the application of former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. The court said that the CBI investigation against Deshmukh will continue. With this, the court kept itself separate from the case and said that the Supreme Court will not interfere in the matter. The allegations are very serious and should be investigated independently. Explain that the Maharashtra government and its former home minister Deshmukh had challenged the Bombay High Court’s order to conduct a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on allegations of corruption leveled by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh.

    A division bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Dutta and Justice GS Kulkarni in the Bombay High Court on Monday told the CBI that it would give its initial notice within 15 days on the issues raised in the ‘letter bomb’ issued by the former Mumbai Police Commissioner last month. Complete the investigation Deshmukh left his post just hours after the verdict. The Bombay High Court had said that an independent agency inquiry into the matter is necessary to safeguard the fundamental rights of the citizens and instill confidence in the people. Along with this, the court had ordered a CBI inquiry into the allegations of corruption. Following this order of the High Court, veteran leader of Vidarbha Deshmukh resigned from the state government and after that the order was challenged in the Supreme Court.
