  • Central government approved Rs 5 crore for synthetic football ground in Bastar (Jagdalpur)

    On the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, Sports and Youth Welfare Department has achieved another major achievement for the development of sports in Chhattisgarh. The Central Government has approved running track for players with synthetic turf football ground at Bastar District Headquarters, Jagdalpur at a cost of 5 crores. The creation of synthetic turf football ground in Jagdalpur will provide a golden opportunity for Bastar’s sports talent to progress.
    It is worth mentioning that for the promotion of sports and development of sports infrastructure in the state, the vision of Khelbo-Jeetbo-Garhbo Nava Chhattisgarh under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel is being rapidly realized. Directorate of Sports and Youth Welfare had sent a proposal to the Government of India to construct a synthetic football ground and running track at Jagdalpur Bastar under the Khelo India Scheme. With special efforts of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, the Government of India has issued administrative approval on 18 December 2020 for the construction of a running track for players with a synthetic football turf ground of Rs 5 crore in Jagdalpur.
    For this, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and Sports Minister Mr. Umesh Patel expressed their happiness and congratulated all the officers and employees of the Sports Department. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that more and more sports facilities will be made available for the players of Bastar region. The youth of Bastar will now take the lead in sports.

  • Nearly four thousand patients got health facility from Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme

    The poor living in the slums of the urban areas have also started getting health facilities easily. Under the Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme, which started in the month of Bastar district, about four thousand people have been provided health facilities so far.

    It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme is being operated to provide easy health facilities to the citizens and workers of the slum areas residing in the urban bodies of Chhattisgarh, as per the Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel. Health check-up and treatment is being done in wards under Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Schemes under Bastar Municipality Corporation area. Under the Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme, four mobile medical units are reaching out to different wards and treating people.

  • There will be no shortage of iron ore and coal for local industries: Mr. Bhupesh Baghel

    Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has said that there will be no shortage of iron ore and coal for local industries in Chhattisgarh. The State Government is continuously making efforts in this regard with NMDC and Central Government. He has asked industrialists of Chhattisgarh to set up small units of industries for value addition in small forest produce in forest areas of the state including Bastar. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel was addressing the ‘Nava Bihan of Chhattisgarh’ program held at a private hotel in the capital Raipur today.

    The Chief Minister said that during the Corona crisis, when the entire country was affected by the economic recession, the industry in Chhattisgarh remained untouched by the recession. During the lockdown, Chhattisgarh’s industries started functioning in the first month of April in the country. Our industrialists contributed significantly to this. Chhattisgarh tops the GST collection today. The credit for this also goes to the people of our industry and business. Production continued even during the Corona crisis in iron ore and coal mines in Chhattisgarh. Mr. Baghel said that the state government, in consultation with industrialists, laid down the new industrial policy of the state. Due to which 103 MoUs were signed in the last two years. A capital investment of Rs 42 thousand crore is proposed in the state through these MoUs. The Chief Minister said that now the challenge of implementing these MoUs is with the state government as well as industrialists. The Chief Minister asked the officers to work in a professional manner for the implementation of these MoUs. Officers should work in better coordination with industrialists to establish industries.

  • Lord Ram the key theme as Chhattisgarh’s Congress govt celebrates two years in office: Bhupesh Baghel

    Amid tribal protests in Bastar, the Bhupesh Baghel government in Chhattisgarh marked its two years in office with a four-day bike rally and a Rath Yatra that ended on Thursday. Interestingly, the event culminated in Raipur’s Chankhuri town, the birthplace of Lord Ram’s mother Kaushalya, amid allegations that the Congress was politicising the deity.

    “Lord Ram spent most of his time in Chhattisgarh and hence, we have decided to develop those places…It is part of our culture and identity and people of the world should know this,” said Baghel, addressing the event in Chankhuri.

    “ … Nowadays, people who want to collect money and votes also take the name of Lord Ram… No one can teach us about Lord Ram, He is of the poor and farmers,” said Baghel.

    The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said the party was dividing Lord Ram for political gains. “The Congress is dividing Ram as ours and theirs for political gains. It is the same Congress which rejected the presence of Lord Ram. It is a welcome move that now, they have accepted that they cannot move ahead without Lord Ram’s blessings,” state BJP president Vishnu Deo Sai said.

  • Hundreds of people visited the Vikas photo exhibition held in Shivrinarayan

    Hundreds of people enthusiastically observed and processed the exhibition on 17 December, the second day of the Vikas photo exhibition held in the religious town of Shivrinarayana on the completion of the two-year successful tenure of the present government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel.
    Based on historical development works, innovative programs, schemes and public welfare policies of the state and district in the last two years, this photo exhibition was observed today by panchayats, public representatives, and common citizens of Shivrinarayan city during last two years Information was received about the development and plans of the state. During this time, the publicity department’s published publicity material and literature were distributed to those who came to see the exhibition.

  • Strengthened sustainable means of income by directly employing rural workers

    Under the MNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme) in Chhattisgarh, more than 100 days of employment has been provided to one lakh 21 thousand 740 families so far in the current financial year 2020-21. Chhattisgarh ranks sixth in the country in providing 100 days of employment to the maximum number of families. With the convergence of schemes of MNREGA as well as other departments under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, their livelihoods are being provided along with providing employment to rural laborers. Apart from direct employment through MNREGA, their sustainable means of income are being strengthened.
    According to the information received from District Panchayat Janjgir, about 3 lakh 263 thousand laborers of 1 lakh 63 thousand 500 families have been given jobs in the district so far this year under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. Under MGNREGA, more than 49 lakh man days have been created and wages worth Rs 91 crore 33 lakh have been paid. This year 3793 families have been given 100 days of employment in the district. 100 days of employment provided to 17 families holding forest rights. Construction of 720 concrete platforms has been approved in the Paddy Procurement Centers under MNREGA convergence, out of which 711 works have been completed. In the financial year 2020-21, 26 new panchayat building works have been sanctioned in the district, out of which 16 works have been completed and 10 works are in progress. In the financial year 2020-21, 602 works of pond deepening, 40 works of private dubri construction and 79 works of new pond construction are being approved in the district.

    Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel will attend the Gurughasidas Jayanti celebrations held on December 18 at village Motimpur (Amartapu Dham) and Lalpur Dham in Mungeli district. On December 18, Chief Minister Shri Baghel will reach the village Motimpur (Amaratapu Dham) by helicopter from the Police Station Ground Bhilai of Durg district at 12.00 am and will attend the Gurughasidas Jayanti function held here. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel will depart from Motimpur (Amartapu Dham) by helicopter by 01.05 pm and reach village Lalpur Dham at 01.15 pm and will attend Gurughasidas Jayanti function held here till 02.15 pm. Time will be reserved for the Chief Minister from 02.15 pm to 3 pm. Chief Minister Shri Baghel will depart from village Bandhwa Lalpur Dham at 3 pm by helicopter for Sector-6 Bhilai Satnam Bhawan in Durg district.
