    RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel reacting to PM Narendra Modi’s announcement on free COVID-19 vaccines for all above 18-plus said, “It’s a late decision taken.”

    He asked on how is the Centre going to ensure the regular supply of the vaccines to states as it remains a major challenge. “During the last Assembly budget session, the state government had already declared that everyone in Chhattisgarh would get free vaccines. The chief ministers of all states have been repeatedly urging the prime minister for free supply of vaccines but our plea were unheeded following which the states had to arrange from its own coffer,” Baghel said.

    The opposition BJP however called the decision as historic during the pandemic and expressed gratitude to the prime minister.

Collector Shri Singh said that such departments which want to distribute materials like tricycle, forest rights lease, seed minikit, super compost, revenue land rights letter or distribution of plants or other materials to the beneficiaries under beneficiary oriented schemes, that too Give your information by this evening.
    Collector Shri Singh instructed for the inauguration, invitation letter for Bhoomi Pujan program, LED screen and all necessary preparations to be done by the Chief Minister. The Collector also asked to make all the arrangements for the meetings to be taken by the Minister-in-Charge on Tuesday. According to the revised schedule of District In-charge Minister Shri Kawasi Lakhma tomorrow, he will reach Mahasamund at 11:00 am and will take a meeting in the District Panchayat meeting room. Minister Shri Lakhma will rest the night at Circuit House, Mahasund. Industries and Commercial Taxes Minister Shri Kawasi Lakhma will join Mahasamund on the second day on Wednesday through video conferencing in the development works and Bhoomi Pujan, inauguration program of the Chief Minister. The minister will leave from Mahasamund for Raipur at 2:00 pm.

The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of happiness that the private sector entrepreneurs have tested the possibilities of processing vegetables and fruits in Chhattisgarh and they are increasing their participation rapidly in the field of food processing. The Chief Minister said that it is the endeavor of the State Government to ensure that the farmers get the right price for their produce. For this, efforts are being made to set up a wide range of Food Parks for the protection, storage and processing of the produce. Preparations are being made to set up 110 food parks in Chhattisgarh. For this the land has been identified. A target has been set to establish at least one food park in each development block of the state. He said that all types of fruits and vegetables are produced in abundance in Chhattisgarh. Many a times farmers do not get the right price for their produce. Forest produce is also abundantly produced in the state. But due to lack of systematic system of collection and processing of forest produce, on many occasions the collectors do not get proper economic benefits. The Chief Minister said that in order to ensure that farmers and forest dwellers get the right price for their products, the State Government has started the process of processing these products by marking them area wise. Van Dhan Kendras have been established for their processing through Self Help Groups collecting forest produce.
