The incident occurred in the Nyatola Habibpur village of the Goradih police station area. On Saturday night, during a domestic dispute, Mazhar shot his wife, Afroza, and daughter, Shakeela. Both are reported to be in critical condition. The gunshots and cries for help alerted neighbors, who gathered at the scene. Seeing the crowd, the accused attempted suicide by stabbing himself. However, local residents prevented him from doing so.

They then transported them to the hospital. The police were notified and are conducting an investigation. The reason behind Mazhar’s actions remains unclear. The police recovered a country-made pistol, a live cartridge, and a knife from the scene.

Neighbors reported that Mazhar suspected his wife of having an affair, leading to frequent arguments. They believe this may have triggered the incident. The husband fired the illegal weapon during the incident, the bullet piercing the wife’s abdomen and hitting the daughter. The injured wife and daughter are in critical condition, while the accused is undergoing treatment in police custody.

The police are investigating the case and are also trying to determine the source of the weapon. The incident has become a topic of discussion in the village. Police stated that all three injured individuals are receiving treatment. The weapon used in the crime has been recovered. The police have registered a complaint and are taking action.

Harishankar Prasad Singh, from Pakda village in Navgachia, Bhagalpur district, had his son, Sonu Kumar alias Manoj Kaptan, disappear from Raxaul in April 2004. He was approximately eight or nine years old at the time. Sonu was staying with his aunt, Nirmala Devi, in Raxaul. On the day he vanished, his aunt was visiting relatives. Upon her return, Sonu was gone. Her announcement of his disappearance plunged the family into despair. They searched villages, cities, and even Nepal, but there was no trace of him. The family’s fortunes unexpectedly changed on Friday evening.

Harishankar was shown a photograph and informed that his son, Sonu, was admitted to Dhanbad Medical College Hospital. Overwhelmed, Harishankar rushed to Dhanbad with his family, full of hope and apprehension. Upon arriving at the hospital, they recognized Sonu. Seeing his son, Harishankar broke down in tears and embraced him.

Deepak Singh, a hospital worker, played a crucial role in reuniting Sonu with his family. Deepak explained that on Thursday morning, he saw a patient dragging himself along and questioned him. The patient revealed his name as Sonu. After much effort, he remembered he was from Navgachia village in Bhagalpur. He also mentioned he belonged to a Bhumihar Brahmin family but couldn’t recall the village’s name. Deepak sent Sonu’s photo and information to his relatives in Bhagalpur. With social media’s help, Deepak’s relatives reached out to some Bhumihar Brahmin families in Navgachia. Sonu’s relatives contacted Deepak that night to confirm the information. The next day, Sonu’s family arrived at the hospital.

The pain of separation was so profound that Sonu’s mother passed away from the shock two years prior. According to the family, Sonu was the second of four children. After Sonu went missing, his father, Harishankar Prasad Singh, was also shattered. Years passed, and happiness seemed to vanish from their home. Children grew up and started their own families. Throughout it all, Harishankar carried the pain of losing one of his four sons.

Initially, the villagers asked them if they had run away from home. The couple responded that they loved each other and would end their lives if they couldn’t marry. The villagers showed generosity and had the couple married in a temple. Afterward, the bride made a video, stating that she was not forced into anything. She married of her own accord. She added that if anything happened to her, her husband, or her in-laws, her family would be responsible, particularly her uncle.

The incident reportedly occurred in the Sanhaula police station area. Shivam, a resident of Lodipur Khurd, and his girlfriend from Chhoti Sardho village in the Sabour police station area, had been in a relationship for a year. When their families learned of the affair, they opposed it. Due to the families’ lack of consent, the couple then ran away. They later sat near a hospital in Sanhaula. When the villagers inquired, the couple said that they loved each other and had run away. Both were adults.

The villagers then called a priest and had the couple married in the Baba Bholenath temple according to Hindu rituals. The villagers themselves acted as the groom’s and bride’s sides. The villagers made all the wedding arrangements and then sought the blessings of the deities in the temple. The girl’s statement is now going viral on social media.

Efforts are underway to find the unidentified individuals. It’s alleged that a youth named Arman Hussain, was raising slogans at Bhagalpur railway station while carrying a Palestinian flag. According to sources, approximately 4,000-5,000 people gathered near the mosque (Delhi end, Bhagalpur station) on Friday to celebrate the birthday of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad.

During the event, one person and a child came to platform number 01 and started shouting slogans with a flag. However, RPF employee Manish Kumar Yadav on duty warned them and continued his work. Further, on Saturday, SS Bhagalpur gave a written complaint to GRP Bhagalpur. Based on the received complaint, GRP Bhagalpur has registered a case under sections 191(2)/196/61/270/329/352 of the BNS under crime number 159/2025.

A joint team of RPF, GRP, and the local Habibpur police station was formed to identify and arrest the perpetrators. On Monday, four accused involved in the case were taken into custody and brought to the GRP office, where they are being questioned. All four accused are minors and they belong to the same village. He described the waving of the Palestinian flag as unfortunate, alleging it was a conspiracy to disrupt social harmony. Recalling the 1989 Bhagalpur riots, Choubey labeled it a pre-planned political move and suggested that it could be the work of Congress and RJD supporters. The police are currently searching for the individual and conducting a detailed investigation. The administration has appealed to the public to maintain peace.

The Chief Secretary of the Energy Department and Managing Director inspected the project site and instructed officials to complete the pairing work by October and hand it over to the Adani Group.
