Bajaj Auto experienced an increase in overall sales figures for August 2025. The company sold a total of 4,17,616 units last month, representing a growth of approximately 5% compared to…

Bajaj Auto experienced an increase in overall sales figures for August 2025. The company sold a total of 4,17,616 units last month, representing a growth of approximately 5% compared to the 3,97,804 units sold in August 2024. Sales also saw a positive increase compared to July 2025, when the company sold 3,66,000 units.

Despite the overall sales growth, the company faced a downturn in the domestic market. Bajaj’s domestic sales in August 2025 decreased by 8% to 2,32,398 units, whereas the figure was 2,53,827 units in August 2024. This decline was particularly evident in the two-wheeler segment, where domestic sales fell by 12% to 1,84,109 units.

Exports significantly bolstered the company’s sales. In August 2025, Bajaj Auto sold a total of 1,85,218 units through exports, a 29% increase compared to the 1,43,977 units sold the previous year. Two-wheeler exports, in particular, performed exceptionally well, reaching 1,57,778 units, a 25% increase.

The commercial vehicle segment proved to be a major support for the company in August 2025. Domestic sales in this segment increased by 7%, reaching 48,289 units. Exports performed even better, with a 58% increase, recording 27,440 units.

Overall, the CV segment’s sales rose by 21% to 75,729 units. August 2025 presented a mixed picture for Bajaj Auto, showing that while the domestic market is under pressure, the demand from global markets is becoming a new source of strength for the company’s growth.

In the first five months of fiscal year 2025 (April-August), Bajaj Auto sold a total of 18,94,853 units, which is more than a 2% increase compared to the 18,54,029 units sold in the same period last year. Although domestic sales decreased by 9% to 10,50,349 units, a 21% increase in exports balanced out this decline.

A new motorcycle is set to debut in India’s cafe racer segment on August 6th. This will be the Triumph Thruxton 400, marking the third model following the Speed 400…

A new motorcycle is set to debut in India’s cafe racer segment on August 6th. This will be the Triumph Thruxton 400, marking the third model following the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X in India. These bikes have already made their mark in the entry-level premium segment. The new model aims to further enhance the lineup.

The new bike will be the third model built on Triumph’s 400cc platform, developed in collaboration with Bajaj Auto. Upon launch, it will compete with bikes like the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450.

Powerful Engine

It will feature the same 398cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine found in the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X. In these bikes, this engine delivers 39.5 bhp of power and 37.5 Nm of torque, coupled with a 6-speed gearbox and a slip-and-assist clutch. However, the engine might undergo slight re-tuning for the Thruxton, enhancing its sporty performance, throttle response, and aggressiveness.

Estimated Price

Regarding pricing, the Triumph Speed 400 is priced at ₹2.40 lakh and the Scrambler 400X at ₹2.65 lakh (ex-showroom). Considering the premium styling and positioning of the Thruxton 400, its price could be approximately ₹2.80 lakh (ex-showroom), making it the most expensive bike in Triumph’s 400cc range in India.

Bike Design

Spy photos on social media have already provided a glimpse of the Triumph Thruxton 400, showcasing a retro, stylish, and distinctly British design. The front fairing, which appears inspired by fighter jets, is a notable feature. The bike is likely to include a round LED headlight, enhancing its powerful look. With low-set clip-on handlebars and slightly rear-set foot pegs, the Thruxton 400 will offer a sporty riding position, essential for a cafe racer bike.
