Mahindra & Mahindra’s bet with the Thar has been quite easy since its debut in 2020. Due to which it is one of the most successful lifestyle vehicles in India. Over the past few years, the company has expanded its range to maintain its speed. With the earlier easier 2WD variant and recently with the launch of the 5-door Thar Rocks, both the vehicles have made a place in the hearts of the buyers.

Despite the high demand, there has been no shortage in the popularity of Thar. Mahindra is now focusing on giving a new look to its 3-door model. Almost 5 years after the launch of the second generation variant, work is going on its mid-cycle update and its hidden test mules have been seen many times during testing.

Testing of Updated XUV700 is ongoing
The facelifted Thar is expected to launch in less than a few weeks. Recently, the company has introduced four new concepts with the next-gen platform. Apart from this, Mahindra is continuing the testing of the updated XUV700, which is to be launched in early 2026.

3-Door Thar Facelift
Spy photos of the 3-door Thar facelift show that the front bumper of the SUV has been completely redesigned. Which gives it an even more powerful look, while sharp detailing has now been given in the fog lamp housing. Minor changes have also been made to the familiar grille and Mahindra is expected to introduce C-shape LED lighting signature to make its look even more शानदार.

With the new design front fascia, the updated Thar will also have new style alloy wheels which will differentiate it from the existing model. However, Mahindra will not make any changes in its base because this SUV will retain its ladder-frame design and engine options. Which will include 1.5-liter diesel, 2.0-liter turbo petrol and 2.2-liter diesel powertrains without any changes.

3-Door Thar Facelift Features
Talking about the interior, the facelifted Thar will see a major upgrade, which will include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the middle of the dashboard. The area around the gear lever is also being worked on, which may include a setup of wireless charging pads.

Mahindra & Mahindra aims to strengthen its position in the compact SUV sector by launching the Mahindra XUV 3XO in 2026. This will include hybrid and electric powertrains. This could mark Mahindra’s first hybrid model in India, integrating a robust hybrid system with a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine.

The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV is anticipated to feature a compact 35kWh battery pack, coupled with an electric motor. Both hybrid and electric variants are expected to undergo some modifications, such as ‘Hybrid’ or ‘EV’ badges, along with new alloy wheels and software updates for the instrument cluster.

The Mahindra Vision X concept SUV, unveiled on August 15, 2025, previews the brand’s next-generation compact SUV. The design of the new-generation XUV 3XO is likely to draw inspiration from the Vision X and may be based on Mahindra’s new NU IQ platform, which supports multiple powertrains.

Visually, the Vision X concept is quite striking. However, design modifications are expected in its production model. The concept features a closed grille with Mahindra’s signature logo, a bonnet, a coupe-like windshield, aero-optimized dual-tone alloy wheels, door handles, and black cladding running from the front to the back. While there has been no official announcement regarding the launch timeline, it will compete with the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Creta, and Kia Sonet in the subcompact SUV segment.

**2010-2012 Honda Jazz:** The Honda Jazz was India’s first premium hatchback, launched in 2009. It was known for its sporty design, spacious cabin, and superior engine and performance. This hatchback had unique magic seats, allowing the rear seats to be folded in different configurations as needed. At the time, the Jazz had a 120 PS 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, and later, a smaller 90 PS 1.2-liter petrol engine option was added. **2011-2013 Volkswagen Vento:** The Volkswagen Vento was a favorite among car enthusiasts and was always praised. Volkswagen offered 1.6-liter petrol and diesel engine options at the time, both delivering 105 PS of power. If you opt for an older Vento instead of the iPhone 17 Pro Max, you won’t regret it. This car is available for ₹2 lakh to ₹2.5 lakh. These cars have been driven between 70,000 to 1 lakh kilometers.
