<p>PVSV DAV Public School in Jhumritilaiya recently hosted a two-day capacity building program on November 8th and 9th, 2025. Organized under the auspices of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Patna Region, the workshop focused on strengthening evaluation and assessment methodologies. The primary goal was to equip educators with effective, transparent, and competency-based assessment techniques, aligning teaching-learning processes with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.</p>



<p>The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of a lamp by the School Principal and Site Director, Krishan Kumar Singh. Esteemed resource persons, including Chandan Kumar Dubey from Sainik School, Mukesh Kumar Prasad from Jharkhand Public School, and senior teachers Mousumi Mallick and Kumar Satish Singh, were present. A welcoming song performed by students set an encouraging and harmonious tone for the proceedings.</p>



<p>During his welcome address, the Principal elaborated on the evolving assessment system, impartial evaluation techniques, and the crucial role of teachers. A total of 58 educators participated, comprising teachers from DAV institutions and four teachers from Jharkhand Public School. Participants were updated on new circulars, question paper creation standards, assessment matrices, activity-based learning, and the revamped framework for classroom-based assessments. Through group discussions, quizzes, and activity-based learning, teachers delved deep into the transformations in the evaluation process.</p>



<p>Resource persons emphasized the need for student-centric, skill-based, and life-relevant assessments. The program concluded with a peace chant. Kumar Satish Singh extended his gratitude to the Central Board, resource persons, school management, participating teachers, and the support staff. Chandni Dubey expertly compered the event. Principal Krishan Kumar Singh highlighted the workshop as a significant step towards making teaching and evaluation more holistic, skill-oriented, and learner-centered, in line with the vision of NEP 2020.</p>
