India’s organic sector is set for a major global spotlight with its designation as ‘Country of the Year’ at BioFach 2026. The announcement from the Commerce Ministry comes ahead of the fair’s February 10-13 run in Germany’s Nuremberg, promising an unprecedented showcase of Indian prowess.

Under APEDA’s leadership, India’s presence will be grander than ever, embodying the country’s deep-rooted farming traditions and its emergence as a powerhouse in organic supplies. BioFach, renowned as the planet’s top organic food and agriculture expo, has seen India’s steady rise over the past decade-plus.

The expanded participation mirrors the boom in Indian organic exports, fueled by worldwide appetite and active engagement from exporters, trade bodies, and FPOs. Covering 1,074 square meters, the national pavilion will host 67 partners ranging from private exporters to government commodity boards and testing labs.

Expect a tantalizing display of India’s organic bounty: everything from premium rice and pulses to exotic spices like ginger, turmeric, and cardamom, plus cashews, oilseeds, herbs, cinnamon, mango puree, and vital essential oils. Exhibitors hail from more than 20 regions, including powerhouses like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and emerging hubs in the Northeast such as Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur.

This diverse lineup celebrates India’s agro-regional richness, from Kerala spices to Himalayan herbs, while underscoring consistent export growth. BioFach 2026 offers India a prime platform to forge new partnerships, tap into premium markets, and reinforce its commitment to sustainable, chemical-free agriculture on the world stage.

India’s presence at Gulfood 2026 is set to be its most ambitious yet, with the country earning Partner Nation status and ramping up to 161 exhibitors. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry revealed details of this scale-up, which includes a pavilion twice as large as last year’s, signaling robust growth in agri-food exports.

This surge mirrors rising global appetite for Indian produce, driven by enhanced participation from diverse stakeholders. APEDA will curate an impressive array of offerings: key agricultural commodities, Geographical Indication products, organics, and innovative value-added items.

Innovation takes center stage at the Bharati Pavilion, hosting eight elite startups in Dubai’s startup hub. Handpicked from a competitive pool, these firms present cutting-edge technologies and products primed for international success, embodying APEDA’s forward-thinking export strategy.

Visitors can savor India’s gastronomic diversity in a special live cooking area, where expert chefs demonstrate traditional recipes. This sensory showcase highlights the adaptability of Indian ingredients, sparking buyer interest and fostering long-term trade partnerships.

To maximize reach, APEDA has launched high-visibility campaigns across Dubai’s key spots, from transit hubs to urban billboards. The overarching goal? Strengthen networks, amplify brand equity, showcase diversity, and solidify India’s role as a sustainable force in global food trade.

Chhattisgarh is set to receive a significant boost in agricultural exports with the opening of an APEDA (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority) regional office in Raipur. This…

Chhattisgarh is set to receive a significant boost in agricultural exports with the opening of an APEDA (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority) regional office in Raipur. This initiative, driven by the efforts of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and the Department of Industry, has been approved by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.

This new office will provide a range of benefits to Chhattisgarh’s farmers, producers, and exporters, offering training, certification, packaging, standardization, and export-related services all in one place. This eliminates the need to seek assistance from offices in other states.

The establishment of the APEDA office will facilitate access to phyto-sanitary certificates, quality certifications, lab testing, and export procedures within the state. This will save time and reduce costs for farmers and exporters.

The APEDA office will also help brand Chhattisgarh’s agricultural products, facilitating direct exports of fruits, vegetables, rice, GI-tagged products, millets, and other agricultural goods to international markets. This will ensure fair prices for products, open up new markets for traders, and enhance the state’s global recognition.

Farmers can expect better returns for their produce and increased income through exports. Moreover, they will gain access to information and training on new technologies, quality control, modern packaging, and international marketing locally.

Farmers, startups, and MSMEs in Chhattisgarh will now be able to easily access export promotion, skill development, and subsidy schemes run by APEDA. Chief Minister Sai has expressed his delight at this historic step, stating that it provides a strong platform to connect Chhattisgarh’s farmers and producers to the global market.

This office will not only promote agricultural exports but also be a decisive step towards the state’s economic prosperity, making Chhattisgarh a leading state in the ‘Vocal for Local to Global’ initiative and opening up new opportunities for exporting rich agricultural products.
