The rhetoric is in full swing after Narendra Modi’s announcement of making the vaccine free. BJP is expressing gratitude to Modi for this, while Congress is telling the effect of the Supreme Court’s rebuke. Raising the question, Congress Rajya Sabha MP Chhaya Verma said that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had presented a budget of Rs 35,000 crore for the vaccine. PM Modi left the responsibility of buying the vaccine on the states. Chhattisgarh is the first state where it was announced to provide free vaccine to people in the age group of 18 plus.Rajya Sabha MP Chhaya Verma said that even after the Chhattisgarh government gave money, the vaccine sent to Chhattisgarh was first sent to the central government. After that it was sent to Chhattisgarh. When all political parties put pressure on PM Modi that the vaccine should be available free of cost. Then PM Modi made this announcement.
But only the announcement has been made, when will it be given, in what quantity, which vaccine will be given, in how many days it will take. This too is beyond comprehension. There is no vaccine for the general public, so why are they sending the vaccine to other countries to rob accolades? The government of Chhattisgarh has given money for the vaccine. Now will they get the money back or send the vaccine? There was no clear policy on this too.
