Feroz Khan, a celebrated figure in Bollywood, left an indelible mark not only as an actor but also as a director and producer. He began his acting career with the film ‘Deedi’ in 1960 and later directed his first film, ‘Apradh,’ in 1971. Khan’s film journey was successful, and he left behind a legacy when he passed away 16 years ago. His final film, ‘Welcome’ (2007), proved to be a massive hit, showcasing his enduring talent. Although he wasn’t the lead, his character and dialogues were unforgettable. While Katrina Kaif played the lead actress, the film’s comedic brilliance was fueled by four exceptional actors.

‘Welcome,’ released on December 21, 2007, was directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Firoz A. Nadiadwala. The music was composed by Anand Raj, Himesh Reshammiya, and Sajid-Wajid. The film’s core cast included Akshay Kumar, Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor, and Paresh Rawal, each delivering outstanding performances. Their portrayals were widely appreciated. Feroz Khan played the role of RDX, and his dialogue, ‘Abhi hum zinda hain’ (We are still alive), became immensely popular.

The film featured the hit song ‘Insha Allah,’ showcasing Feroz Khan’s dance moves. Khan also contributed significantly to the film’s humor, and it was his last cinematic appearance. ‘Welcome’ brought laughter to audiences, and its impact was remembered even after his passing.

The film’s narrative revolves around two dons (Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor), with their boss, RDX (Feroz Khan). The story unfolds with Sanjana (Katrina Kaif), the sister of the dons, falling in love with Rajiv (Akshay Kumar), a seemingly decent man. However, Sanjana’s family’s criminal background is eventually revealed. The film explores how the story progresses and takes unexpected turns, making it a captivating watch. It is available on Amazon Prime Video. ‘Welcome’ had a budget of 48 crore, and it collected 119.50 crore worldwide.

The real-life couple Ajay Devgn and Kajol have shared the screen in numerous films. While some of their collaborations have been successful, and others less so, one particular film released 27 years ago captured the hearts of audiences. This low-budget movie not only performed exceptionally well at the box office but was also a remake of a Hollywood film. Before marrying Kajol, Ajay Devgn acted with her in several films. Their relationship blossomed on set, leading to Kajol’s decision to marry him. Although initial family approval was reportedly a challenge, the couple eventually won everyone over. The film in question is ‘Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha,’ which was released in 1998.

Diljit Dosanjh will not be appearing in the upcoming sequel, ‘No Entry 2’. The Punjabi singer-actor, initially slated to star alongside Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor in the Anees Bazmee-directed comedy, has withdrawn from the project. Sources confirm that the decision stems from scheduling conflicts, specifically his inability to align his dates with the film’s planned shooting schedule. Dosanjh was set to play a key role in the ensemble cast, but his pre-existing commitments, including a tour, made it impossible. The production team is now seeking a replacement actor, which may influence the shooting timeline.

The film ‘Singh Is Kinng’ offered a vibrant cinematic experience, a Punjabi tale that could have potentially spawned several spin-offs. However, a disagreement between director Anees Bazmee and others seemingly halted further projects.

This film presents a captivating and entertaining adventure. Akshay Kumar delivers a remarkable performance as the ‘happy-go-looking’ Happy Singh, transitioning from his Punjabi village to Australia in search of a colleague. His portrayal captures both strength and vulnerability, humor and pathos, reminiscent of Chaplin and Jim Carrey.

Akshay Kumar’s character, Happy Singh, has a simple mission to ‘Get Lucky,’ and he does. Sonu Sood as Lucky Singh, is comatose for a significant part of the film and replaced by Happy Singh as the new Don.

The film is a lively rush of quirky characters and scenarios. Anees Bazmi, as writer-director, retained the comedic style of his earlier hit, Welcome, and crafted a disarming comedy.
The plot weaves an elementary action-adventure narrative. Akshay Kumar adapts his comedic persona to the style, delivering a finely-tuned performance. It’s a showcase for Akshay’s talents. The film is punctuated with moments of subtlety, such as when Happy informs Katrina’s suitor why she must be treated specially.

The narration is a patchwork of crime and culturally-challenged adventure. ‘Rose lady’ pops up in an Australian suburbia offering comfort. However, certain sections are poorly edited, especially those depicting Sikh dons’ charity towards African-Australians. The film is a feel-good film, celebrating screen heroism.
