Amitabh Jain took a meeting of all the Divisional Commissioner, Collector, Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat and Chief Health and Medical Officers through video conferencing from Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhavan here today. In the meeting, to start a campaign to promote organic manure mainly through 100% sale of vermicompost prepared under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana, to coordinate the plans of various departments in the Multi-purpose Livelihood Center (Multi Activity Center) set up in Gowthan, farmers To encourage the farmers to take other crops in place of paddy, fulfillment of Kovid-19 vaccination targets and Aadhaar linkage and progress of ongoing works in the state of National Highways were reviewed. Additional Chief Secretary, Chief Minister’s Office Mr. Subrata Sahu and Additional Chief Secretary Mrs. Renuji Pillay, along with Agriculture, Panchayat and Rural Development, Health and Family Welfare and Public Works Department Secretary and Mission Director were present in the meeting.
Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain has said that to promote organic manure, an action plan has to be made for 100% sale of vermi compost fertilizer being prepared under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana. For this, before the sowing of the Kharif crop, a public awareness campaign is being conducted for the use of organic manure through Kisan Workshop, Kisan Seminar, Kisan Chaupal, Krishi Sakhi, Kisan Mitra, Pashu Sakhi, Pashu Mitra. For this, Mr. Jain has instructed to assess the sale of organic manure at the society (cooperative society) level. In order to promote organic manure, the state has been asked to identify large and progressive farmers as organic manure champions and encourage them to use organic manure. Shri Jain said that during the summer crop in each district, two types of demonstration areas will be created by the Department of Agriculture, in which qualitative comparison of crop production with the use of organic manure and chemical fertilizer, besides encouraging the farmers towards organic farming Will go. Instructions have been given to prepare an action plan in this regard within a week and submit it to the Secretary Agriculture Department.
While reviewing the income generating activities in the multi-purpose livelihood centers (multi-activity centers) set up in Gothans, the Chief Secretary has said that livelihood activities should be ensured in these centers only on the basis of raw materials available locally. Also, arrangements should be made for the sale of products being manufactured here. He has said that the activities in these livelihood centers will be conducted in coordination with various schemes of different departments of the government and the necessary resources for these activities will be arranged by the departments. In order to make the Gauthans self-reliant, Gouthan groups have been asked to associate with various income earning activities. Shri Jain has given instructions for construction of vermi compost stitches in all the Gauthans and construction of separate Gauthan toilets for women and men. Instructions have also been given to identify such works in which maximum number of workers can get employment under the Employment Guarantee Scheme. A detailed action plan in this regard has been asked to be submitted to the Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development Department within 15 days.
