FlyBig Airlines Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Captain Srinivas Rao on Wednesday visited the Swami Vivekananda Airport (SVA), Raipur to scrutinise the set up for Raipur-Indore flight services. SVA Director Rakesh Ranjan Sahay greeted the FlyBig Airlines CEO Captain Srinivas Rao at the Airport. Very soon, Raipur will have direct connectivity to the commercial hub of Madhya Pradesh, Indore. The new flights of FlyBig Airlines will come as a big boost to the connectivity between two crucial commercial cities of the Central India. SVA Director Rakesh Ranjan Sahay said that FlyBig Airlines will start operation from SVA on January 13. CEO Rao visited Raipur to check up their set up so as the launch of their flights could be smooth. With ATR type aircraft, they want to make a network of all regional airports and connect them such as to boost connectivity between Raipur/Jabalpur/Bhopal/Indore. In the initial phase of the operation, FlyBig will commence flights from Raipur to Indore and subsequently, the Airlines will set up connectivity between all the airports, SVA Director added. It’s important to recall here that FlyBig was granted with Air Operator’s Certificate by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation in December, 2020. “FlyBig, a private regional carrier on December 14, received AOC from DGCA even as the Airports Authority of India (AAI) manning the Swami Vivekananda Airport (SVA) here has approved the flight operations schedule submitted to them by the airlines,” Airport Director (APD) Rakesh Ranjan Sahay had told to The Hitavada.
