Adani Group’s audacious $100 billion commitment to AI hyperscale data centers by 2035 promises to supercharge India’s role in the exploding global AI economy. Powered entirely by renewables, these facilities could trigger a $250 billion AI infrastructure boom. What sets this apart is the multiplier effect: the core investment will ignite $150 billion more in server production and power tech. From 2GW today, Adani targets 5GW, creating an unparalleled renewable AI platform. Key alliances are fueling momentum, including Google’s Visakhapatnam campus and Microsoft’s hubs in Hyderabad and Pune. This integrated ecosystem merges 5GW of renewables with AI compute to tackle surging power needs. Prioritizing data sovereignty, the setup backs homegrown models and safeguarding national assets. Gujarat’s Khavda mega-project forms the backbone, ensuring energy abundance for a sustainable digital future.

In a glowing assessment, Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran described the India AI Impact Summit 2026 as outstanding. Held in the national capital, the event powerfully demonstrated India’s vision and capabilities in advancing artificial intelligence worldwide.

During an exclusive conversation on the summit’s sidelines, Chandrasekaran noted that it provided an ideal stage to present the nation’s AI plans to influential global and political leaders.

The spotlight fell on a landmark collaboration: OpenAI teaming up with Tata Group for localized AI data centers emphasizing data sovereignty, robust security, and sustainable domestic growth.

TCS’s Hypervolt data center business will launch with OpenAI, kicking off at 100 MW capacity and expanding to 1 GW over time. This setup will power OpenAI’s advanced models in India, meeting stringent data residency and compliance standards while minimizing delays for mission-critical tasks.

Chandrasekaran called the partnership a ‘key milestone’ toward India’s global AI dominance. ‘We’re thrilled to partner with OpenAI to build cutting-edge AI infrastructure here,’ he added.

The alliance promises industry disruption and workforce transformation. Tata intends to deploy ChatGPT Enterprise group-wide, starting with TCS’s vast employee base, creating one of the largest such implementations globally.

This summit underscores India’s proactive stance in AI, blending innovation with practical deployment to drive economic and technological progress.

Ahmedabad’s business powerhouse, Adani Group, dropped a bombshell on Tuesday: a $100 billion direct investment by 2035 to pioneer renewable-powered, hyperscale data centers tailored for artificial intelligence. This isn’t just infrastructure—it’s a blueprint for India’s dominance in the intelligence revolution.

Gautam Adani envisions a future where energy and computing converge to drive unprecedented growth. Drawing from the group’s expertise in green energy and data centers, the plan encompasses a full five-layer AI stack, prioritizing national sovereignty. ‘The intelligence revolution will eclipse all prior industrial shifts,’ Adani declared.

The ripple effects are massive. Projections indicate $150 billion more in induced investments, fostering growth in servers, power grids, cloud tech, and ancillary sectors. By the end of the decade, India’s AI ecosystem could swell to $250 billion.

Building on AdaniConneX’s 2GW footprint, the expansion targets 5GW. Partnerships are firing on all cylinders: a flagship AI campus with Google in Visakhapatnam, Noida expansions, Microsoft collaborations in Hyderabad and Pune, and enhanced Flipkart synergy for AI-driven e-commerce.

What sets this apart is the integration—renewable energy generation, robust transmission, and cutting-edge AI compute in one ecosystem. It’s designed to be the globe’s premier unified platform. Adani is calling on international tech leaders and innovators to collaborate, signaling an open door for global participation in India’s AI ascent.
