MUMBAI: The second part in the horror-thriller series “A Quiet Place” will finally release in India on October 8, Viacom18 Studios announced on Friday, September 24, 2021.

“A Quiet Place Part II”, directed by Krasinski and starring Emily Blunt in the lead, will be released in theatres and in IMAX countrywide, Viacom18 Studios said in a statement.

A follow-up to 2018’s “A Quiet Place”, the Paramount Pictures movie was originally scheduled to release worldwide in March 2018 but the studio postponed it due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The film released in the US in May this year after being delayed several times.

Krasinski returned to direct the sequel from his own script, based on characters developed by Bryan Woods and Scott Beck.

“A Quiet Place Part II” begins almost immediately after the end of “A Quiet Place”, and follows Evelyn Abbot (Blunt), her baby, and two older children Regan (Millicent Simmonds) and Marcus (Noah Jupe) as they try to survive in a world overrun by sound-sensitive creatures.

Produced by Michael Bay, Andrew Form, Brad Fuller and Krasinski, the movie also stars Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou.

  • ‘Mission: Impossible 7’, ‘A Quiet Place: Part II’ to release on Paramount Plus post 45-day theatrical run

    By PTI
LOS ANGELES: ViacomCBS has announced that Paramount Pictures’ major movie titles like “Mission: Impossible 7” and “A Quiet Place Part II” will be debuting on its rebranded streaming service Paramount Plus 45 days after they leave theatres.

The announcement was made at a presentation on Wednesday during which ViacomCBS unveiled a slew of movies and shows for the streamer, formerly known as CBS All Access and now set to launch in the US on March 4.

John Krasinski-directed “A Quiet Place Part II” was originally scheduled to open in the US on March 20 last year but the plans were derailed by the coronavirus pandemic.

The movie, which will feature Emily Blunt in the lead, is currently set for September 17 release.

“Mission: Impossible 7”, which marks the return of Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, is currently scheduled to hit theatres on November 19.

According to Variety, Paramount has adjusted its pay TV output deal with MGM’s premium network Epix in order to bolster movie offerings on the streaming platform.

MGM’s upcoming projects such as Lady Gaga-starrer “House of Gucci”, Rocky franchise sequel “Creed III” and James Bond franchise film “No Time to Die” will head to Paramount Plus after their theatrical runs.

The service will also be home to 700 films from the Miramax library.

Earlier, theatres exhibitors in the US mandated that movies had to screen in cinema house for 90 days before studios could offer them on home entertainment.

But several Hollywood studios have altered their strategies in the wake of the pandemic.

During the time, Paramount had sold a number of its movies to other streamers, such as “The Trial of the Chicago 7” to Netlflix, and “Coming 2 America” and “Without Remorse” to Amazon Prime Video.

However, it kept tentpole movies like “Mission: Impossible” and “Top Gun: Maverick” exclusively for theatrical release.

During the presentation, ViacomCBS unveiled 36 originals, including a revival of “Frasier”, a “Yellowstone” spinoff and new Taylor Sheridan show starring Jeremy Renner, that will release on Paramount Plus in its first year.

Also in the works are new takes on Paramount features “Love Story”, “Fatal Attraction”, “Flashdance”, “The Italian Job” and “The Parallax View”.

The five shows, which are in various stages of development, join previously announced series “Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies”, which has received a script-to-series commitment from the streamer, and “The Offer”, about the making of cult classic movie “The Godfather”.

  • Makers delay release of John Krasinski’s ‘A Quiet Place Part II’ amid pandemic

    By ANI
WASHINGTON: Paramount has yet again pushed back the release of the marquee title ‘A Quiet Place Part II’ further into 2021 amid the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

The outlet reported that Paramount has now delayed John Krasinski’s ‘A Quiet Place Part II’ to September 17 for a theatrical release. This is after the sequel was initially pushed from September 4, 2020, to April 23, 2021.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, 41-year-old actor-director Krasinski has written and directed ‘A Quiet Place II’.

It features original cast-members including Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe. Series newcomers include Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou.

The latest delay to ‘A Quiet Place Part II’ follows the James Bond movie ‘No Time To Die’ also pushing back its release amid the ongoing pandemic and widespread theatre closures in many major markets across the world.

‘A Quiet Place’, the first film, was released in 2018. It saw director John Krasinski emerge as a surprising new voice in the horror genre.

The film revolves around a family forced to survive in a world with monsters that hunt by sound.

The movie went on to gross USD 340.9 million worldwide on a USD 21 million budget, making it one of the year’s biggest success stories for an original film.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, not only a hit with audiences and a reason to opt in for a theatrical experience,’ A Quiet Place’ also scored big with critics and went on to earn an Academy Award nomination for best sound editing, along with several Critics’ Choice nominations.
