Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has unleashed a fierce defense of the Modi government’s border policy, lambasting Congress for politicizing sensitive military issues. The trigger: opposition claims of Chinese intrusions and uproar over ex-Army Chief Gen MM Naravane’s revelations in his new book.

Taking to X, Rijiju emphasized that under Prime Minister Modi’s stewardship—a leader with proven experience—the government prioritizes national interest over cheap political points. He referenced the long-suppressed 1962 Henderson Brooks-Bhagat report, which exposed Nehru-era blunders leading to a crushing loss to Chinese forces. ‘We’ve kept it secret,’ Rijiju stated firmly, ‘not for cover-ups, but to shield defense from political exploitation.’

Adding weight to his stance, Rijiju reposted a November 2024 video from the Line of Actual Control. It captures him negotiating with PLA soldiers beside Indian troops during a Diwali visit, symbolizing proactive diplomacy amid tensions.

BJP firebrand Nishikant Dubey escalated the counterattack, vowing to establish a library dedicated to the Nehru-Gandhi legacy of corruption and national harm. In a viral video, he detailed plans to compile books on everything from partition woes to hidden archives that never saw daylight. ‘This will be a treasure trove for students and historians,’ Dubey said, calling for book recommendations from the public.

The MP’s resolve was fueled by public outpouring after his Lok Sabha speech on the family’s scandals. His project aims to centralize evidence of socio-economic damages inflicted by past policies, ensuring future accountability.

This exchange highlights deepening divides on national security narratives. While Congress pushes for disclosures, the ruling side argues for restraint to avoid compromising ongoing strategies against persistent border threats.
