Kumar Inder, Jabalpur. Madhya Pradesh High Court has sought reply from Rani Durgavati University in the matter of charging affiliation fee from Autonomous College. The High Court has asked the university that when there is no rule for autonomous colleges to charge annual affiliation fee as per UGC rules, then what is the point in charging affiliation fee from the college. The next hearing of this case will be on March 14.
Actually, a petition was filed in the High Court on behalf of Mata Gujri College of Jabalpur. Advocating for this, senior advocate Pankaj Dubey argued in the court that Mata Gujri College is an autonomous college and as per the University Grants Commission regulation, the autonomous college is not required to pay affiliation fee every year.

Advocate Pankaj Dubey said that as per the rules, affiliation fee has to be paid only once a year, but despite this, Rani Durgavati University is repeatedly asking them for affiliation fee every year. Senior advocate Pankaj Dubey told the High Court that according to the amended notification dated 2023, additional affiliation fee has been demanded from the college for the academic year 2023-24, which should be immediately banned. While hearing the matter, the High Court has ordered the university to submit its reply in this matter under any circumstances till the next hearing.
