Manisha Tripathi, Bhopal. The country’s first IIT satellite campus will be developed in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. This will be a unique institute of its kind in the country. Ujjain will be a world-class research center in future technology, which will be set up at IIT Indore’s Deep-Tech Research and Discovery Campus Ujjain. Experts from IIT Indore gave a presentation before Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. The cost of this center will be Rs 474 crore. This work will be completed in the coming one and a half to two years.

Along with MP, the satellite complex will also be useful for other states.

CM Mohan had also made efforts in the past to get approval for the satellite complex of Ujjain. Recently, during his stay in Delhi, he met Union Minister of Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan and had a detailed discussion on various topics related to education and skill development. This sequence includes the project of setting up a satellite campus in Ujjain by the Indian Institute of Technology, Indore. This project was prepared and sent to the Ministry of Education for approval in the year 2023. Ujjain Satellite Campus is an important project which will benefit students, teachers and industrial workers across India and especially Madhya Pradesh.

IIT Indore experts gave presentation

In the presentation to the Chief Minister, it was told that the satellite complex will have Deep Tech Research and Laboratory Discovery Centre, Discovery Centre, Lab to Market Center and various activities in the field of Astronomy and Space Technology. Students, teachers, researchers and the general public will get extensive benefits from it. CM was informed that IIT is active in the field of agricultural research. Research work is also being done regarding various forms of agriculture and new technologies. Dr. Yadav received information about the work being done on the possibilities of future expansion of horticulture and flower farming.

Research related to meteorology will be important

The proposed organization of the Deep-Tech Research and Discovery Campus will support deep-tech research laboratories, discovery centres, providing new dimensions of research through translation and its application and lab-to-market centres. Which will also include startup culture and entrepreneurship. IIT Indore is trying to establish leadership in advanced areas of research.

The Deep-Tech Research and Discovery Campus is proposed to develop high-tech technologies and products and develop a number of high-tech technologies and products that can be carried into deep-tech field enterprises. It will create a special structure to house intensive technical research and research campus at Ujjain to develop a culture of translational research and deliver intensive technical products to the market at the highest level. The campus will house a cluster of intensive technical research laboratories, research centers, and lab-to-market centers with essential buildings with advanced instruments and facilities.

Intensive technical research laboratories will conduct high-level research in cutting-edge areas and develop new technologies for industry and society that can be brought forward to the prototype development and entrepreneurship industries. Through research, suitable technologies can be established for the society. It will take the help of scientists, industry experts and technology change experts who will lead the research activities.

High-level simulation, packaging, sensors, manufacturing, integration of IoT and semiconductor devices, communication technologies and related activities will be covered. The lab-to-market project will include laboratory scale models to prototypes and products. It will also focus on mentoring of entrepreneurship operations experts and assistance and involvement of commercial experts to develop business based plans for enterprise creation. Organization of monthly online and hybrid programs will be promoted to assist in skilling of human labor in high-tech sectors.
