Skill upgradation is essential according to the changing economic and social conditions: Governor

Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel has said that it is necessary to keep skill upgradation and training in line with the ever-changing economic and social conditions, so that training remains relevant to the industry and communities. He told the trainees not to wait for jobs, strive towards self-employment.

Governor Shri Patel was addressing the closing ceremony of vocational training programme sponsored by Madhya Pradesh Employment and Training Council at Samanvay Bhavan. Certificates were also distributed as a token to 25 participants by the Governor in the programme. It is noteworthy that the three-month technical and vocational residential training was conducted by the Centre for Research and Industrial Staff Performance (CRISP). 237 youths from Scheduled Caste families living below the poverty line from different districts participated in the training programme.

Governor Shri Patel said that it is necessary to encourage the entrepreneurship of the youth to build a self-reliant India. Financial institutions should co-operate as facilitators in the entrepreneurship efforts of the youth. He asked the trainees to use the acquired skills for self-employment. In this way, we will be able to provide employment to other people as well. He said that starting a business requires knowledge, skill and morale, not much experience and money. Success in self-employment simply requires learning essential things and it’s application to work. Governor Shri Patel said that it is the responsibility of the youth to help the deprived, poor and senior citizens of the society. He told the youth to never forget the sacrifices and devotion of the parents in life. Do not do any work in life, which will bring shame on the motherland.

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Science and Technology Minister Shri Om Prakash Sakhlecha said that it is necessary to have positivity of attitude along with skill knowledge. Continuous efforts with positive attitude by setting goals in life are the basis of success. He said that to make dreams come true, it is crucial to make efforts with dedication towards the goal. Mentioning the efforts being made for the education and skills of the children of the assembly constituency, he said that Indian youths have the best brain in the world with versatile thinking ability. What is needed is continuous efforts with positivity.

Shri Satish Kumar of Swadeshi Jagran Manch said that India is the country with the largest youth population in the world. With this man power, India can be made the biggest economy of the world. The need is to convert it into human resource. The need is to skill the youth of the country and promote their entrepreneurship. President of Building Construction Workers’ Board Shri Hemant Tiwari said that more than 20 schemes have been run by the Board for 49 categories of workers, in which there are provisions for assistance for health and education. He informed that financial assistance is also being provided by the board for education abroad.

Additional Chief Secretary, Skill Development and Technical Education, Shri Manu Srivastava said that efforts should be made to upgrade skills according to the rapidly changing technology. Citing an example, he said that the current mechanical vehicle has around 1100 moving parts, while the electric vehicle has only around 100 moving parts. Electric vehicle is an electronic product, which is operated by software. Trained human resources in electronics will play an important role in the maintenance of these vehicles.

Dr. Shrikant Patil, Managing Director, CRISP elaborated on the structure of CRISP. He informed that more than 40 labs are being operated in 11 sectors by more than 85 faculties. CRISP is also co-operating in the efforts of technological empowerment of India and African countries. Shri Amol Vaidya, director of CRISP, proposed the vote of thanks.
