A similar case of cyber fraud has come to light in Shahdol district. In which a girl saw an advertisement of a low priced scooter on Instagram, after which she contacted the given mobile number. The deal was finalized for Rs 20 thousand. After this, the thugs cheated the girl of Rs 80 thousand to get the scooter. Based on the complaint of the girl, the cyber cell team is investigating the matter.
A 17-year-old minor from village Jodhpur under City Kotwali, after seeing an advertisement of a low-priced scooter on Instagram, made online payments of Rs 53 thousand to cyber thugs five times. The thugs cheated the money by giving the location of Scooty delivery. When morning turned to evening and the girl did not find the scooter, she became suspicious. By then she had become a victim of fraud. After which the girl complained about the matter in the Kotwali police station. Police have registered a case against an unknown thug and started investigation with the help of cyber cell team. In this matter, Additional SP Anjulata Patle says that a case has been registered on the complaint of the girl and the thugs are being investigated. People have also been asked to be aware by telling them ways to prevent online fraud.
