In Morena, the government ambulance is parked near the police station area. On calling, it does not reach the patient, injured or pregnant woman. The government ambulance does not reach the district hospital located 500 meters away in two hours.
Naiduniya representative, Morena. There are 53 government ambulances in the district. It is claimed that these ambulances reach the patient, injured and pregnant woman in 18 to 20 minutes, which is a blatant lie. The reality is that private hospitals and private ambulance operators have so much influence in the government ambulance service that the government ambulance does not come even after two hours. Out of compulsion, the patient has to hire a private ambulance, whose operators take the patient to private hospitals for a huge commission.
The reply from there was that the ambulance was not available yet, while at that time four ambulances were parked outside the 108 office located near the police station, 500 meters away from the hospital. When the ambulance did not arrive for two hours, Suresh Rathore was taken to Gwalior in a private ambulance.
Similarly, on Monday morning, a government ambulance did not arrive even after one and a half hours to take a pregnant woman from Banmore to Gwalior. Out of compulsion, a private ambulance had to be hired. This ambulance operator took the pregnant woman to a private hospital in the old Housing Board.
Government ambulances carrying passengers
Many times government ambulances have been caught carrying passengers at bus stands and on highways. Many times photos and videos of ambulances have been circulated on the internet media. Just a few days ago, action was taken against an ambulance driver for carrying passengers.
On the other hand, the infiltration of private ambulance operators in the district hospital has increased since Dr. Padmesh Upadhyay has been posted as CMHO. For information in this matter, Naiduniya correspondent called CMHO Dr. Upadhyay several times, but he did not receive the call.
The process for ambulance runs from Bhopal, the vehicle which is empty is sent to the spot. If four vehicles are parked at 108 district office, yet the ambulances are not being declared empty, then this is a very serious matter. I check the location and time of each vehicle. Strict action will be taken against those who are found to be doing wrong. – Shailendra Rajput, Zonal Manager, Ambulance 108
