Madhya Pradesh will provide five lakh jobs in IT: Minister Shri Sakhlecha

Science and Technology Minister Mr. Omprakash Sakhlecha has said that due to Madhya Pradesh’s best eco-system and industry-friendly policy in the field of IT in the country, Madhya Pradesh will become a state providing five lakh jobs in the IT sector by the year 2025. Shri Sakhlecha was addressing the IT and ITES session during the Global Investors Summit at Brilliant Convention Center Indore on Wednesday, giving strong reasons to the investors to invest in Madhya Pradesh. The session was also addressed by Additional IT Secretary, Government of India Shri Bhuvanesh Kumar, and Principal Secretary, Science and Technology Shri Nikunj Srivastava, MP.

Throwing light on the scenario of Madhya Pradesh, Minister Shri Sakhlecha said that Madhya Pradesh is one of the leading states in the direction of realising the “Digital India Mission” as per the expectations of the Prime Minister. The cost-of-living has come down relatively in the state. Better and safer environment is being made available under Ease of Doing Business by simplifying various labour laws. The IT Minister said that especially in Madhya Pradesh, work is being allowed round the clock in the Shops and Establishment Act. He said that the state is an island of peace and safe environment is available at work places including women employees.

Minister Shri Sakhlecha said that plug and play facility has been made available to the companies along with construction of about 6 lakh 50 thousand square feet in the main four metropolitan cities by preparing necessary eco system in the state. Apart from this, construction of 5 lakh 40 thousand square feet is proposed. He informed that 4 IT SEZs, 15 IT parks, 50 IT/ITES companies have exported in the state. About 2 lakh engineers and other management human resources are being made available every year through about 200 engineering colleges, IITs, IITM etc. in the state.

Referring to research and development in cluster-based industries, Minister Shri Sakhlecha said that in the field of ESDM, more than 90 acres of developed land in the two main metropolitan cities of the state, Bhopal and Jabalpur IT Park, has been made available to 100 companies and 400 acres of land is proposed to be developed. About 150 electronics manufacturing units have been established in the state.

Describing the state as a low-earthquake-prone area, Minister Shri Sakhlecha told the companies that there are immense possibilities available to set-up business here. He said that many types of grants are being provided by the government as an incentive to the companies. The IT policy of the state will be made more practical. He told that so far more than 649 companies have been established in the IT, ITES and ESDM sector and employment has been provided to about 50 thousand people.

Science and Technology Minister said that a grant of about 50 crores has been made available to more than 213 companies in the state. He told the budding entrepreneurs that all the “Intention-to-Invest” applications received so far are being positively considered. Work is also being done on new topics related to setting-up of State Data Center.

Earlier Additional Secretary, Government of India Shri Bhuvnesh Kumar mentioning the vision of the Prime Minister, said that the possibilities of IT industries in Madhya Pradesh are more as compared to other states. Apart from Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, he described districts like Sagar, Vidisha, Chhindwara as having immense possibilities of IT.

In the welcome speech, the Principal Secretary of the department Shri Nikunj Srivastava informed about the infrastructure development works being done to make Madhya Pradesh an emerging hub of IT. Describing the provisions of Madhya Pradesh’s science and technology and innovation policy, he called upon the investors to invest in the IT sector.

In the second session there was a discussion between investors and entrepreneurs. The discussion was also attended by Shri Anurag Awasthi, ESAK, Shri Zakir Pathan of Accenture, Shri Kirti Baheti, Founder, Yash Technology, Sushri Sapna Bhambani, and Shri CS Rao Quadgen. All appreciated the wonderful scenario and policies of Madhya Pradesh.
