Bhopal. Voting took place peacefully for the by-elections of urban bodies and panchayats. According to the information received till 7 pm on Friday, 69.13 percent voting took place in urban bodies and 63 percent voting in Panchayats. In urban bodies, 69.86 percent male and 68.37 percent female voters exercised their franchise. In Panchayats, 64.46 percent male and 61.47 percent female voters exercised their franchise.
Counting of votes and declaration of election results of urban bodies will begin at 9 am on January 9. The counting of votes for the Panchayat post in the Panchayat by-election has been done in the polling station immediately after the voting. The counting of votes in EVMs of Sarpanch, District Panchayat member and District Panchayat member will be done on January 9 at the respective development block headquarters from 8 am.
