Madhya Pradesh is going to ban liquor ban in 17 religious cities including Ujjain from April 1. 17 shops, 11 hotel-restaurants of Ujjain’s corporation border will be closed. 47 liquor shops will be closed in 17 cities. However, alcohol can be kept for drinking itself. Revenue will be repaid from other shops in the district.

Ujjain Municipal Corporation, Datia, Panna, Mandla, Multai, Mandsaur, Maihar, Omkareshwar, Maheshwar, Orchha, Chitrakoot, Amarkantak area area. At the Gram Panchayat level, the policy of prohibition will continue in Salkanpur Mata Temple, Barman Kala, Burman Khurd, Kundalpur, Bandakpur.
CM Mohan approved the new excise policy
Significantly, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced a ban on the sale of liquor after the approval of the new excise policy on 23 January. This initiative will cause a loss of about Rs 450 crore in the excise revenue to the state government, but the government has increased the renewal fee of liquor shops by 20 percent under the new excise policy for the next financial year.
