The heritage train was started on 25 December 2018. It was not run in between due to corona. This time extra coaches had to be added to the train.
Naiduniya Representative, Indore (Heritage Train). Tourists are very excited about Madhya Pradesh’s first heritage track from Patalpaani to Kalakund. Tourists have enjoyed the valleys till August 18 in the heritage train that started on July 20. The situation is such that there is a long waiting list for the train every day.
Many tourists are having to change their plans due to the waiting not being cleared. Railways is also adding additional coaches to reduce the waiting. So far, Railways has earned a revenue of more than seven lakh rupees in 13 days from this heritage train.
This train was closed during Corona
The operation of this first heritage train of Madhya Pradesh started on 25 December 2018. Due to the Corona period, the operation of this train was stopped in April 2020. The operation of this train was started again in 2022. It has been started again from 20 July this season.
After getting the reservation facility, there is a long waiting list for this train. According to Ratlam division, more than 7115 tourists have travelled in this train from 20 July to 18 August. Due to this, the railways have got a revenue of more than 7 lakh 77 thousand rupees.
Divisional PRO Khemraj Meena said that to reduce the waiting list of the train, extra non-AC coaches are also added. Currently, the train is being operated on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in a week. There is waiting list for the train for the next three weeks.
Vistadome coach is the center of attraction
AC Vistadomes have been installed to make the journey of tourists in the heritage train better and comfortable. These coaches have large size window glasses, trailing windows, snacks table and side pantry. Clean toilets have also been constructed in the coaches for the convenience of tourists.
The exterior of the coach has been decorated with attractive PVC sheets. This train departs from Patalpaani every day at 11.05 am and reaches Kalakund at 1.25 pm, offering a view of natural scenery.
