Bullying of former sarpanch: occupation of temple land, houses shaking due to planting of gunpowder for illegal mining, villagers in panic

Karma Mishra, Gwalior: People of Baragaon Jagir Panchayat of the district are troubled by the bullying of the former Sarpanch. Hundreds of villagers, including the village sarpanch, reached the collectorate on Tuesday to lodge a complaint. Along with village Sarpanch Pistabai and Deputy Sarpanch Bahadur Singh, they reached the rural collectorate with a complaint. The Sarpanch and the villagers allege that former Sarpanch Anand Sharma has occupied more than thirty bighas of land of the public Murli Manohar Temple of the village and is cultivating it himself. Apart from this, stones are being mined illegally near the village.

Cracks in many houses due to blast in mine

Villagers allege that blasts occur every day in the stone mines due to which people are in panic and cracks have appeared in the houses. When the villagers protested against this, the domineering former Sarpanch Anand Sharma also abused and threatened the villagers. After hearing the complaint of the villagers, the SDM has instructed the Tehsildar to investigate the matter and has assured to take appropriate action after the investigation.
