There are still many shortcomings in the major category blood banks. Even after this, the staff is providing blood to the people keeping humanity in mind.

MLA Rajan Mandloi said that the blood separation machine for the blood bank has arrived since 2017. But she is not able to get out of the lock. The reason for this is the lack of experts, staff and license renewal for its operation. Also, a building was required for the operation of this unit, which will be completed in 2023 itself. But now due to lack of experts, staff and license not being renewed, the machine has not been started yet.

According to the MLA, patients from places like Barwani, Dhar, Alirajpur, Khargone etc. reach the district hospital. Mainly providing blood to sickle cell and thalassemia patients in blood banks proves to be a challenge. Nevertheless, the patients are being supplied on time with the blood received through donors and camps. Mainly Thalassemia patients are facing a lot of problems. Due to this, many patients are directly facing death. A demand has been made several times to the administration to start a blood component separation unit in the district hospital.

Let us tell you that the blood bank of the district hospital is the leader among the district hospitals of the state in terms of blood unit transactions. Where more than 10 thousand units of blood are transacted every year. Civil Surgeon Dr. Anita Singare said that the unit could not be started for some time due to lack of building. Now the building has been constructed and we had written a letter for inspection for the blood separation unit. After that inspection was done by the expert team. After inspection, the expert team had lodged objections on 7 to 8 points. After resolving those objections, we have sent the letter again. The team will come again for inspection. We have full hope of getting the license. As soon as the license is obtained, the units will be started.
