On the other hand, in the PSC examination of Select 24 in 2019 and 2020, a total of 48 Deputy Collectors including Select 24 have become senior to these in-charge Deputy Collectors by getting the batch of January 2024.

Why is the matter stuck?
In fact, after the order given by the Jabalpur High Court in 2016 regarding reservation in promotion, a petition has been filed in the Supreme Court due to the change in the government policy. Due to which, there is delay in posting of Tehsildars and the possibility of allotting them batch is decreasing. Also, the government has failed to announce the batch allotment to the Deputy Collectors selected in the PSC examination of 2019 and 2020. Due to which anger and anxiety is increasing among them.
Tehsildar is facing punishment
The government has filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the order of the High Court, demanding reforms. On which the Supreme Court has not yet conducted any hearing. Tehsildars of the Revenue Department are facing this situation and they are facing reduction in seniority, for which they are suffering the punishment for their mistake.
