Voting is necessary for the strengthening of democracy – Commissioner Ms. Kindo

Officers and employees were sworn in to uphold the dignity of democratic traditions at a program organized by the Surguja Commissioner, Ms. G. Kindo, on the occasion of National Voters’ Day at the Collectorate Hall here today. On this occasion, officers and employees who did excellent work in election and voter awareness related works were awarded with a citation.
Commissioner Ms. Kindo while congratulating the 11th National Voters’ Day said that our country is the largest democratic country in the world. Our ancestors have worked to strengthen democracy through voting by establishing an independent electoral commission with the establishment of a republic for orderly governance. Democracy will be strong only when we all vote with greed and fear. He said that new young voters should vote in all the polls at their own discretion and also make them aware about voting. He said that the process of election is very complex and long, yet the BLO. From polling officers, staff and sweep nodal officers work day and night. Surguja district has received the first prize at the state level for its excellent work in sweep. This reflects the same thing. The commissioner said that in order to maintain people’s faith in democracy, vote themselves and make them aware about voting.
Collector incharge and CEO of Zilla Panchayat Shri Vinay Kumar Langeh said that youth have an important role in election. 35 to 40 percent of the total population of the country is youth. This percentage must be targeted for voting. He said that healthy politics is also necessary for healthy democracy. For this, inspire the youth to come forward.
