Bilaspur. The High Court has dismissed the contempt petition filed by retired Deputy Collector RN Sanmani against the Revenue Secretary, Commissioner and Sarguja Collector for ignoring the judicial order. During the hearing, the High Court said that the High Court order has been complied with by the senior officials with a delay of 04 (four) months, since the order passed by the High Court Bilaspur has been complied with, the contempt petition was dismissed refusing to impose a fine against the senior officials.

Let us tell you that RN Sanmani, a resident of Taparia, Ambikapur, was posted as Deputy Collector in District-Korea. He was retired in July 2017 after completing the age of 62 years. After retirement, a petition was filed in the High Court for non-payment of all retirement dues. After hearing the case, the High Court directed the Secretary, Revenue Department and Collector, Korea to pay all retirement dues within 60 days. The court had asked the petitioner to submit a fresh representation to the department. Even after submitting the representation on the court’s direction, the representation was not resolved within the time period of 60 days set by the High Court.
The advocates had demanded imposition of fine and serious action
On non-compliance of the High Court order within the stipulated time period, RN Sanmani had filed a contempt petition before the High Court Bilaspur through High Court advocate Abhishek Pandey and Durga Mehar. Advocate Abhishek Pandey and Durga Mehar argued before the High Court that at present the age of the petitioner is 68 years. The senior officers posted in the state of Chhattisgarh are continuously disobeying the orders of the High Court by not complying with the orders passed by the High Court Bilaspur within the stipulated time period. Most of the senior citizens are not getting justice in their lifetime. Due to continuous filing of contempt petitions in the High Court, the very valuable and important time of the court is wasted, hence, serious action should be taken and fine should be imposed against Neelam Namdev Ekka (Secretary, Revenue Department), Mahavir Ram (Deputy Commissioner, Surguja) and Vinay Kumar Lange (Collector, Korea). Hearing on which, the High Court today refused to impose fine against the senior officers and ended the contempt petition.
The High Court, Bilaspur, while hearing the contempt petition, said that the order of the High Court has been complied with by the senior officers with a delay of 04 (four) months. Since the order passed by the High Court, Bilaspur has been complied with, the petition is dismissed.
