Transport Department’s ‘Your Sarkar, Your Door’ facility started in Chhattisgarh

The Government of Chhattisgarh has started ‘Tunhar Sarkar, Tuhar Dwar’ facility to provide services of Transport Department to the people of the state.

Through this facility, people will get the benefit of 22 types of services of the transport department including driving license and registration certificate.

State Public Relations Department officials said here on Wednesday that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel launched the new facility of the Transport Department ‘Tunhar Sarkar, Tuhar Dwar’ (Your government is your door) in a program organized at his residence office on Tuesday. Through this new facility, the Transport Department will provide 22 transport services to the people of the state at their homes.

These services include smart card-based driving licenses and transport services related to registration certificates, officials said. These documents will be delivered to the home addresses of applicants and vehicle owners through speed post. Applicants have to apply on the website to avail the services. With the launch of this service, Chhattisgarh has become the first state in the country where the Transport Department is integrating the services related to driving license and registration with Aadhaar.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Baghel said that it is the thinking of the state government that the more easily the public facilities reach the people, the easier their life will be and the pace of development will be faster.

He said, “Modern technology is being used to make the services of governance reach the people according to the times. The Transport Department has taken a commendable initiative to provide online services in the time of Corona virus crisis. This will avoid crowding infection, while people will be freed from having to go to the transport office.

Officials said that in this new facility launched by the Transport Department from Wednesday, 10 services related to license including duplicate license, driving license renewal and change of address and 12 services related to vehicles including ownership transfer and change of address will be made available at home.

He said that after registration of new vehicles, amendment in RCC of old vehicles, new driving license and changes to be made in old license, documents related to driving license and RC (Registration Certificate) directly to the registered address through speed post of India Post. will be made available within a maximum of seven days.

Officials said that for the smooth operation of the new system, the helpline number is being issued by the Transport Department. Through this helpline, applicants can get information regarding dispatch of smart card based driving license and registration certificate after approval to the transport offices.
