Guru Gobind Singh’s birth anniversary is a symbol of bravery and courage on Wednesday. Guru Gobind Singh Ji is the tenth Guru of the Sikhs. According to the Hindi calendar, Gobind Singh Ji was born in Patna Sahib on the seventh day of Shukla Paksha of Paush month. Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who sacrificed his entire family to protect the religion, had established the Khalsa Panth and made five kakaras compulsory for all Sikhs. Guru Gobind Singh Ji is the last Guru of the Sikh community, after him Guru Granth Sahib became a permanent Guru. Ardas are performed in Gurdwaras on this auspicious occasion of Prakash Parv. A bhajan is a kirtan. On this day people of Sikh community take out Prabhat Pheri and offer prayers in gurdwaras.
