On the lines of cities, the new wind of cleanliness has also started in the rural areas of Korea district. Under Swachh Bharat Mission Rural, the work of garbage collection is being done in model gram panchayats through Swachhta didis. Due to this, a different atmosphere of cleanliness is being created in the village, on the other hand, with the commencement of the garbage collection work, the women of the village have also started getting a different type of work like self-employment. A similar story of women creating new dimensions everyday with the help of government-administration was seen in Model Gram Panchayat Patna under Baikunthpur development block of the district. 8 women of Om Sai Self Help Group of the village took the initiative to make the village clean and beautiful. Under the Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin, these women are doing the work of garbage collection by going door-to-door early in the morning as Swachhta Didis. Along with garbage collection, the sisters are also doing the work of helping people in making the village clean and creating awareness regarding garbage disposal. The sisters of the group told that they collect the garbage and collect it in the segregation shed, where dry and wet waste is separated and disposed of. She says that this work has given her a different identity, it feels great when people call her as Swachhta Didi. The work of garbage collection has not only made her village clean but has also given her a good means of employment, By starting the work, till now they have received a benefit of about 7 thousand rupees. Giving detailed information regarding this garbage collection being done in the gram panchayats, Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat Korea, Smt. Namrata Jain said that according to the instructions of the state Under the Swachh Bharat Mission Rural, the standards of cleanliness are being prepared in a phased manner in the gram panchayats. It has been started as a model in some Gram Panchayats of Janpad Panchayats of Koriya district. Rickshaws have been provided to the women of the group under Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin. Through this, Didis are collecting garbage and bringing it to the garbage management center. After collecting a large amount of garbage, there is a plan to sort it and dispose of it properly. The district coordinator of the Swachh Bharat Mission Rural said that 41 groups are doing garbage collection work in the district.
