The three-tier system implemented for checking the quality of roads under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana should be strictly followed.

The Deputy Chief Minister of the State, Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya informed that the system of three-tier investigation is in place to ensure that the standards and quality of the works of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana are checked. He has given instructions to all the concerned officers to strictly implement the three-tier system. Said that with this system, good results have been seen in maintaining the quality of road construction work. Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya informed that work of periodical renewal and upgradation of roads etc. is being done in Uttar Pradesh through Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna with the aim of providing better services to the public. The Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana was launched on 25 December 2000 during the tenure of the then Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Bajpai. Remarkable works have been done in the state under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. The responsibility of the maintenance of the roads constructed in this plan for 5 years lies with the concerned contractor. The budget for maintenance is borne by the state government. The scheme has a three-tier system of quality checks, through which quality is ensured. Under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna, work is being done on FDR technology on a total of 9 routes in Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, Agra, Hathras, Mainpuri, Hamirpur, and Jhansi. On this technology, the work of getting these 9 routes done on FDR technology was taken as a pilot project. This year, a budget provision of Rs.7373.71 crore has been made in the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, against which an amount of Rs.629.14 crore has been spent so far.
