In the social media, false propaganda is being done against the state government citing a two-year-old news related to ‘Marrieds can get married to fulfill the target’. In this regard, the Minister of Women and Child Development, Smt. Anila Bhendia has said that with the aim of tarnishing the image of the state government, misleading and wrongly wrong facts are being viral on social media. His statement has been distorted in the newspaper. He has not given any statement like getting married people to fulfill the target. He said that the State Government, through the Department of Women and Child Development, is making every effort to fulfill the dreams of marriageable daughters of weaker section families under Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojna. Under the scheme, the state government has increased the amount for girl marriage from Rs 15 thousand to Rs 25 thousand. More than 6 thousand girls have been married at an increased rate. Last year on February 27, a mass marriage ceremony was organized in 22 districts simultaneously in Chhattisgarh. Keeping in mind the Corona epidemic, all the districts were virtually connected.
