Yogesh Singh, Bemetra. A unique case of ATM card theft has come to light from Bemetara district of Chhattisgarh. A clever thief is having fun by stealing ATM cards from banks and withdrawing money from ATMs in different cities of the country. The matter came to light when the victim farmer and the beneficiary reached the bank and informed the manager that money was being withdrawn from their bank account. Then in the case it was revealed that the ATM card made 3 years ago was not given to the account holders. The ATM card of the account holders has been stolen from the bank and is being used by a vicious thief.
This entire matter pertains to the District Cooperative Bank located at Berla branch of Bemetara. Where recently a thief had entered the bank at night and stolen the ATM card. Seeing the goods scattered, the bank manager informed the police. At that time the bank manager did not know that the ATM had also been stolen from the bank. The victim farmer and bank account holder have reached Berla police station and lodged a complaint regarding this incident. The bank manager has handed over the video footage of the entire theft incident to the police. But even after a week the thief is out of the hands of the police.

Expressing their displeasure at the bank manager regarding the incident, the account holders said that when our ATM card was ready 3 years ago, then why was it not handed over to us. This is negligence of the bank somewhere. The work of the bank is under doubt.
