The farmers of Kurushnar, which is called the gateway of Abujhmad, are now moving towards self-reliance by taking advantage of the government’s National Agriculture Development Scheme and other public welfare schemes and are educating the children by improving their standard of living. Shri Lakheshwar’s father Sanker, a similar farmer of Kurushnar, who in the past used to do traditional farming work on one and a half acres of land of his ancestors. Seeing his hard work and dedication, the officials of the Horticulture Department advised him to take advantage of the schemes of the government and do farming. On the advice of the officers of Horticulture Department, Krishak Lakhevar gave his consent and started work under the guidance of Horticulture Department officials.
Giving information, Assistant Director of Horticulture Department, Mr. Mohan Sahu said that the work of land leveling has been done in the field of farmer Lakheshwar under MNREGA scheme of the government. After leveling, the Horticulture Department has given the benefit of drip, shednet house etc. in his field. In which a contract has been signed with the farmer Lakheshwar for the production of high quality seeds. Farmer Shri Lakheshwar told that he has got 1 lakh 60 thousand per acre profit by cultivating bottle gourd this year. At present, he has planted bitter gourd crop in his field, from which it is expected to get two to two and a half lakh rupees. The economic condition of the farmer has been strengthened by the cultivation of vegetables. Due to which the surrounding farmers will be inspired to take advantage of the schemes of the government and their standard of living will change.
