The very strong cyclone Yas will have an impact in the Surguja division of the state. According to meteorologist HP Chandra, moderate to heavy rains are likely in Jashpur and its adjoining districts. The districts of Chhattisgarh which are far away from Jashpur, both rain and wind speeds will be reduced. Mainly Surguja division and its adjoining districts will be the most affected. He said that the very strong cyclone Yas was located at 8 am on Wednesday, 50 km from Balasore in Odisha and 45 km from Dharma in the Bay of North West Bengal. It was likely to hit the coast around 11:30 am. At this time, the maximum speed of the cyclone is expected to be 130 to 140 kilometers per hour.
