Sumitranandan Pant is one of the four pillars of the Chhayawadi era in Hindi literature. Sumitranandan Pant emerged as the originator of the new era in modern Hindi literature. Sumitranandan Pant is counted among such litterateurs, whose portrayal of nature was one of the finest among contemporary poets. Regarding the rich personality of Sumitranandan Pant, litterateur Rajendra Yadav says that ‘Pant used to write nature-centric literature while living in costumes like romantic poets of English’. He lost his mother within just six hours of birth. Pant used to get influenced by people very soon. Pant, inspired by Mahatma Gandhi and Karl Marx, wrote compositions on them.
Called William Wordsworth of Hindi literature, the poet named Amitabh Bachchan as ‘Amitabh’.
