Suda organizes felicitation ceremony-cum-workshop for urban bodies, banks, beneficiaries and street vendors

Raipur. 11 December 2024. A felicitation ceremony-cum-workshop of urban bodies, banks, beneficiaries and street vendors has been organized by the State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) of the Urban Administration and Development Department on 12 December. In the program, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai will reward the bodies, banks, beneficiaries and street vendors doing excellent work under PM Swanidhi and National Urban Livelihood Mission. Street vendors will also be given information about financial literacy and financial inclusion in the felicitation ceremony-cum-workshop organized at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium, Raipur.

In this program organized by Suda on the theme of “Stepping towards Excellence”, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai along with Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Shri Arun Sao, Minister in-charge of Water Resources and Raipur District Shri Kedar Kashyap, MP Shri Brijmohan Aggarwal, MLAs Shri Rajesh Munat, Sunil Soni, Motilal Sahu, Purandar Mishra, Anuj Sharma and Mayor Shri Ejaz Dhebar will also participate.

Chief Executive Officer of Suda, Shri Shashank Pandey said that in the felicitation ceremony-cum-workshop, the urban bodies, banks, which have done excellent work in the financial year 2023-24 under PM Swanidhi and DE-NULM (Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Urban Livelihood Mission). And the beneficiaries will be rewarded. Beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana, such urban street vendors who are repaying the loan received from the bank on time, will also be rewarded. City Mission Managers and community organizers working in the National Urban Livelihood Mission and officials of banks performing excellently in Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana and NULM will also participate in the program.

In the workshop, officials of the Reserve Bank of India and State Level Bankers Committee will provide information about financial literacy and financial inclusion to urban street vendors. During this period, a discussion-cum-guidance program regarding digital transactions will also be organized by representatives of Bharat Pay, Paytm and Google Pay under “Main Bhi Digital Campaign”. Along with the launching of MMU app, UPI payment boxes will also be distributed to urban street vendors in the workshop.

Loan of Rs 52.85 crore given to 30,197 urban street vendors in one year under PM Swanidhi Yojana
Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana has been launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to enhance the livelihood of urban street vendors and street vendors affected during the Corona epidemic. During the Corona period, the livelihood of urban street vendors and street vendors was most affected during the lock-down, which had a very bad impact on the economic condition of their families. Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana has proved to be very effective in coming out of this situation. Many street vendors are enhancing their livelihood through the scheme.

Under the able leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai and the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration Minister Shri Arun Sao, in the last one year, a total of 30 thousand 197 urban street vendors in various urban bodies of the state were given the benefit of PM Swanidhi Yojana and Rs. 52 crore 85 lakhs. Loan of Rs. has been disbursed. In the first phase of the scheme, a loan of Rs 19 crore 15 lakh has been provided to 19 thousand 162 beneficiaries, in the second phase a loan of Rs 14 crore 14 lakh has been provided to 7089 beneficiaries and in the third phase, a loan of Rs 19 crore 56 lakh has been provided to 3946 beneficiaries.
