Street drama in the Collectorate on World Mental Health Day

On Monday, on the occasion of World Mental Health Day on October 10, a street-play was organized by the workers of the Health Department in the Collectorate office to make people aware of mental health. Under the guidance of Collector Deepak Soni, programs are being run in the district to bring awareness about mental health under the awareness program. For which the health department goes to schools, ashram-hostels and villages to inform the children and villagers about mental health, along with investigation of mental diseases and treatment of people suffering from mental ailments. Under the guidance of CMHO Dr. RK Singh and DPM Sonal Dhruv, psychologist Madhu Baghel and Psychiatric Assistant Virendra Kela and staff nurses in the district office gave information about mental health to the employees and people of the district office through street plays. In which, depicting the problems faced by the families due to depression caused by puberty in children, people should go to the Sparsh clinic located in the district hospital for treatment or the helpline number of the district. It is worth mentioning that taking mental health seriously in Kondagaon, on the instructions of Collector Deepak Soni, a sensitization program is being conducted under the National Mental Health Program. For which Sparsh clinic is being operated in the district hospital. Where medicines are also distributed along with free consultation. Apart from this, with the help of district administration and UNICEF, Manas Foundation organized special mental health camps for school children in schools and hostels in relation to stress, fear, depression, anger, anxiety, restlessness and nervousness during puberty. While giving information, they are told about the ways to overcome these problems, as well as the helpline number of mental health in schools has also been written and the hostel superintendents have also been trained for this. Apart from this, with the help of district administration and UNICEF. Volunteers of Yuvodaya Kondanar Champ operated, people are being made aware of mental health through street plays, songs, meetings in square squares, haat-bazaars in all gram panchayats of the district. Along with this, half way home is being run by the district administration in collaboration with local NGO Shanti Foundation for the treatment and care of people suffering from mental ailments.
