Raipur 25 November 2024/ Preparations for the state level youth festival have started in the state. Today, a meeting regarding the preparations for the State Youth Mahotsav was organized under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Shri Manoj Pingua at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan. With the objective of increasing national unity, community participation and brotherhood and providing maximum opportunities to the youth of the state in the field of art and culture, a state level youth festival will be organized in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. State level youth festival will be organized from 12th to 14th January. Competitions related to 13 types of disciplines will be organized in the Youth Mahotsav which will run for three days in the Sports Directorate premises and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium.
Youth Mahotsav includes group folk dance, group folk song, individual folk dance, individual folk song in the cultural genre, story writing in life skills genre, painting, extemporaneous speech, poetry, science fair in the youth craft genre, handicrafts, textiles, agricultural products, Other genres include rockband etc. The age of participants in the State Youth Festival has been fixed at 15 to 29 years. After the Youth Festival organized at the district and block level, the winners will get an opportunity to showcase their talent in the State Youth Festival. Cash prizes will be given to the winners of the State Youth Festival. Also, all the participants of the Youth Festival will be encouraged. State level youth festival competitions will be organized from 9 am to 8.30 pm. In the meeting, officials informed that various departments of the state government have been given the required responsibilities for successfully organizing the state level Suva Mahotsav. With this, CSPDCL will make the electricity arrangements and the Public Works Department will do the decoration and repair work of the departmental infrastructure at the main event venue. Security system, police department, health system, exhibition of modern equipment and products for advanced agriculture will be organized by the agriculture department. Craft Village Exhibition will be set up by the Village Industries Department and stalls for youth-run schemes will be set up by the Industries Department. Similarly, exhibition of adventure sports activities will be organized by the Tourism Department.
Information was given in the meeting that regarding the organization of district level and development block level youth festival, guidelines have been issued by the collectors of all the districts of the state, Director General of Sports and Youth Welfare Chhattisgarh. The block level youth festival will be held till 30 November 2024. And the district level youth festival will be organized between 1st and 15th December. Secretary Public Works Dr. Kamalpreet Singh, Secretary of Sports and Youth Welfare Department Shri Himshikhar Gupta, senior officials of education, agriculture, tourism, culture, industry, health and other departments were present in the meeting.
