Special attention should be paid to the education of children of specially vulnerable tribal groups – Smt. Shammi Abidi

The commissioner of the Tribal Department, Mrs. Shammi Abidi, took a meeting of the principals and hostel superintendents of 22 Eklavya Adarsh ​​Vidyalayas operating in Surguja division today, regarding the better operation of Eklavya schools. He said that special attention needs to be paid to the children of specially weaker tribal groups studying in Eklavya schools. These children come from very difficult circumstances, due to which the level of education in them is relatively low as compared to other children. Abidi said that the main objective of the principals and hostel superintendents should be to create awareness about education and to increase the rate of literacy in them. The review meeting was organized in the meeting room of Tribal Research and Training Institute (JTZP). In the review meeting, school wise information taken through PPT expressed happiness over the better arrangement of Eklavya Model Residential School operating in Surajpur district. Guidance was given to overcome the problems being faced in the operation of other schools. Suggestions regarding improvement in the school system were also taken from the principals and hostel superintendents. Requested to arrange solar energy in the school, to install more machines towards RO water purifier, to arrange for head pump, bore, water tank, lightning driver, inverter etc. Commissioner Mrs. Abidi instructed to take necessary action at the earliest in this regard. It was instructed by Mrs. Shammi Abidi that all the children in schools should get copy-books, uniforms, shoe-socks, school bags etc. on time. In case of non-availability of English medium teacher in the school, instructions were given to arrange for English teacher through outsourcing at the earliest. Arrangements were also made for good libraries, computer labs etc. in schools. Instructions were given to keep the school building, classrooms, residential arrangements, kitchen and toilets clean. Emphasis was placed on maintaining the stock register of every material purchased for use in the school. Apart from this, other registers were also asked to be maintained. It is worth mentioning that for the better operation of Eklavya schools, division wise review meeting of principals and hostel superintendents has been organized in three phases. In the first phase, a meeting of Bastar division was organized on June 30. In the second phase, a review meeting of Surguja division was held today.
