Farmers in rural areas of Chhattisgarh are reaching paddy procurement centers with enthusiasm. Now they do not have to wait long to sell paddy. Tokens are being given in advance to the farmers selling paddy by the Government of Chhattisgarh. As a result of which the work of buying paddy of the farmers in a convenient manner is being done. Along with the purchase of paddy, the lifting of paddy is also going on continuously for custom milling. Till 5.30 pm on the 17th day of the paddy procurement season, 7 lakh 36 thousand 475 metric tonnes of paddy has been procured from the farmers on the support price. According to the information received from the Food Department, 7 lakh 36 thousand 475 metric tonnes of paddy has been procured from about 2 lakh 25 thousand 815 farmers in the current paddy procurement season since November 1. In lieu of paddy, payment of Rs 1566.61 crore has been released to the farmers under the bank linking system. It may be noted that the state government has estimated procurement of 110 lakh metric tonnes of paddy this year. To sell paddy on support price, 25.92 lakh farmers have been registered in the state, out of which about 2.18 lakh are new farmers. 2538 procurement centers have been set up for paddy purchase in the state. This year, normal paddy is being purchased from farmers at the rate of Rs 2040 per quintal and grade-A paddy at Rs 2060 per quintal. Food Department Secretary Mr. Topeshwar Verma said that today, on November 17, 85 thousand 046 metric tonnes of paddy was purchased from 26 thousand 469 farmers and 13 thousand 276 metric tonnes of paddy was purchased from farmers through tokens received online. For this, 32 thousand 993 tokens and 4077 tokens were issued to the farmers through Token Tuhar Haath app today. For paddy procurement for the next day, 39 thousand 963 tokens have been issued for paddy procurement in the state and 5114 tokens have been issued through Tuhar Haath app. Paddy procurement is going on uninterrupted in the state. The officials are continuously monitoring the paddy procurement system. Strict vigil is being maintained through check posts to prevent illegal transportation of paddy from border states. Food Secretary Mr. Verma told that like last year, this year also under the guidance of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, along with paddy procurement, paddy is being lifted for custom milling. So far for the lifting of 5 lakh 20 thousand 565 metric tonnes of paddy, D.O. have been issued.
