The responsibility of operating city buses in the district has been entrusted to the Dhamtari District Urban Public Service Society. Collector Mr. Rituraj Raghuvanshi, while taking the general body meeting of the society today, has asked Commissioner Municipal Corporation Mr. Vinay Poyam to send an estimate as soon as possible to the State Urban Development Agency to demand funds for the repair of four buses available in the district. . It may be known that earlier the city buses were being operated by the Urban Public Transport Society of Raipur. The district had got five out of ten buses sanctioned under the city bus project. Buses have stopped operating since the Corona period. Presently four buses are standing at Arjuni Bus Depot, which need to be repaired. In view of this, the Collector has asked SUDA to demand the amount. It was also informed in the meeting that one of the five buses received by the district, the operator went away with it. On this, the collector has asked to take action to bring him back. It was also decided in the meeting that after repairing the buses, the operator and route etc. would be decided. On this occasion, the District Transport Officer informed the Collector about the route of the city bus fixed earlier. It is imperative to mention that Dhamtari Urban Public Service Society has been formed in July 2021 for the implementation of state sponsored schemes. The Collector is the President of this Society. Today its meeting was held in the collectorate hall from 11 am. The second important agenda in the meeting was the operation of City Diagnostic Center. For this, tender has been invited thrice earlier. Collector Mr. Raghuvanshi insisted on motivating the Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. SK Mandal to tender tenders to the interested firms as soon as possible for the City Diagnostic Center to be operated in the first floor of Itwari Bazar Complex owned by the corporation. . In today’s meeting, the collector has clearly said that not only patients should be treated with medicines in the medical mobile units operated under the Mukhyamantri Slum Health Scheme, but tests should also be increased according to the need. He has insisted on increasing the percentage of test from 38 to 60. Along with this, the Chief Medical and Health Officer has been asked to ensure that the doctors refer generic medicines, so that the economic condition of the patients does not become an obstacle in taking medicines as per the intention of the government. Approval of the expenditure/payment made from November 2021 to December 2022 for operation of various schemes under the Society was also done in the meeting.
