Secretary, Social Welfare Department, Shri P. Dayanand visited Surajpur district today to take stock of the purchase of paddy on support price. He went to the paddy procurement centers of Mani, Kandrai and Jayanagar in the district and inquired from the committee managers about the arrangements required for the purchase there, including gunny bags, moisture measuring instruments etc. He instructed the officers-employees to be vigilant in the purchase of paddy and to pay special attention to the fact that farmers do not face any kind of problem. Secretary, Mr. Dayanand directed the quality of paddy brought to the procurement centers to be sold on support price, in the committee. Took stock of the availability of gunny bags, tokens being issued, register maintenance and quantity of paddy purchased etc. Surajpur district collector Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh informed that there is adequate arrangement of gunny bags in the cooperative societies of the district for the purchase of paddy. Secretary, Mr. Dayanand directed to make arrangements for tarpaulins to protect the paddy purchased from accidental rains in view of the current weather. He instructed the committee managers to put a cuticle of straw bags at the bottom before stacking the purchased paddy. Secretary Shri Dayanand also discussed with the farmers in the procurement centers. He appreciated the arrangement of corona vaccination in paddy procurement centers. Shri Dayanand also instructed the District Marketing Officer to start the lifting of the procured paddy immediately. During this, officers and employees of the district were present.
