Salik Ram Dhruv’s family became financially empowered by the cultivation of maize

Public welfare schemes run by the Chhattisgarh government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel are proving to be a boon for the farmers. In order to encourage the farmers to leave their traditional agriculture and take new crops, the Agriculture Department is connecting them with modern agriculture by encouraging them to produce cash crops, commercial crops. Ram Dhruv, with the cooperation and advice of the Agriculture Department, is making the best use of the forest rights lease granted by the Government of Chhattisgarh, cultivating maize in it. Although earlier they used to sow paddy crop. This time he had sown certified seed (KMH-3426) of free maize (KMH-3426) provided by the Agriculture Department in two and a half acres of field. It has produced about 18 quintals of maize. Out of which he made good profit by selling more than 8 quintals in the open market. Salik Ram says that seeing the good quality of maize, not only the nearby traders but also traders from other districts are coming and buying maize from them. This gave him good profits. In lieu of paddy crop, his family is becoming financially empowered with the income from this new crop. Salik Ram tells that he is cultivating maize instead of paddy under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana in consultation with the Agriculture Department. It is getting good income. They will now take additional benefit of this scheme by selling the remaining 10 quintals of maize out of the total production under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. Salik Ram is teaching his son Atmaram the tricks of farming along with him. Now both are doing farming together. His son Atmaram told that this time the crop of maize instead of paddy has given a good yield, which has encouraged the whole family more. In the coming years, we will cultivate new crops with more enthusiasm and hard work. Atmaram told that seeing him, the nearby farmers are also being encouraged to take other crops instead of paddy, so that they can also earn financially. Salik Ram is doing maize farming as well as fish farming and mushroom production. Due to which they are getting extra income, due to which their economic condition is improving as well as happiness is coming in the house.
