The Department of Revenue and Disaster Management of the Government of Chhattisgarh grants financial assistance to the natural disaster victims through the District Collector. Under the Kabirdham and Dhamtari districts of the state, financial assistance of Rs 32 lakh has been approved in 8 such cases.
Under the provisions of Revenue Book Circular 6-4, the death of Birzhuram Netam of village Mandeli of Magarlod tehsil of Dhamtari district due to fire, Sonuram Markam of village Ghotgaon in Nagri tehsil, Kailashnath of village Buthanharra and Fatesingh Mandavi of village Guhannala died in water. In case of drowning, financial assistance of Rs. Four lakh has been sanctioned to the families of the victims. Similarly, Santosh Yadav of village Threat in Kawardha district, Takeshwar of Amalidih and Bhupesh of Sonpuri died after drowning in the pond and Firat Patel of village Mazgaon in Sahaspur Lohara tehsil died of snake bite. Economic assistance of four lakh rupees has been approved.
